EMERGENCY WARNING - Stockyard Flat (Walcha LGA)
A bush fire is burning in the Stockyard Flat, Spur Trail, Yarrowitch, Oxley Wild River National Park area. The fire is more than 59,600 hectares in size and is out of control.
The fire is burning in an easterly direction in the Oxley Wild River National Park.
There is significant fire activity in the Werrikimbi, Forbes River and Pappinbarra areas.
The fire may spread north as winds change this afternoon. This may affect the Bells Flat and Kangaroo Flat areas.
The fire has joined the Mines Road fire to the east, and the Carrai Creek fire to the north.
Firefighters are conducting property protection in the area.
If you are in the area north of the Oxley Highway and Forbes River, seek shelter if the fire approaches. Protect yourself from the heat of the fire by sheltering in a solid structure.
If you are in the area of Bells Flat and Kangaroo Flat, monitor conditions.
