MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ALONG MIRROOL CREEK, THE TUMUT, QUEANBEYAN AND BELUBULA RIVERS
The remnants of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther, currently near the Queensland/New South Wales border, is feeding tropical moisture into New South Wales and generating widespread rain across much of the state. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther is likely to cross the New South Wales/Queensland border today, intensifying rain about parts of inland and southeast New South Wales, before the system moves over the Tasman Sea by Friday.
This rainfall has the potential to cause localised and riverine flooding from late Thursday onwards.
Catchments likely to be affected include:
Belubula River minor flooding
Tumut River minor flooding
Mirrool Creek minor flooding
Queanbeyan and Molonglo Rivers minor flooding
Flood warnings are current for the following catchments:
Paroo, Warrego, Culgoa, Birrie, Bokhara and Narran Rivers.

This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding develop.
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy rain is forecast or observed.
