A trough over the southern and central parts of the coast, together with a high pressure system to the southeast of Tasmania, is bringing strong easterly winds over the southern coast and widespread rain in the southeastern districts

High tides forecast on Monday through to Tuesday may exacerbate flood conditions in low lying coastal areas.

A Severe Weather Warning has been issued for Northern Tablelands and parts of Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes and Riverina Forecast Districts.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Clyde River (local and riverine flooding)
Tuross River (local and riverine flooding)
Towamba River (local and riverine flooding)

Flood warnings are current for the Clarence, Manning, Orara, Wyong, Hawkesbury, Nepean, Colo, Georges, Shoalhaven, St Georges Basin, Moruya, Bega, Tuggerah Lake, Paroo River, Wallis Lake

Flood Safety Advice:
This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding develop.

Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy rain is forecast or observed.
