Very hot and dry conditions combined with moderate southwesterly winds due to a surface trough will lead to locally severe fire dangers across forested areas of the Maranoa and Warrego and southwestern Central Highlands and Coalfields districts on Wednesday. Winds will be stronger and the airmass drier on the western side of the trough, which will progress eastwards during the course of the day.
