SA Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Large Hail, Damaging Winds

For people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East, North West Pastoral and parts of Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula and North East Pastoral districts.

Issued at 4:39 pm Friday, 20 December 2019.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h in the warning area over the next several hours. Isolated thunderstorms may also produce large hailstones to around 2cm.

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Whyalla, Renmark, Mount Gambier, Clare, Maitland, Murray Bridge, Naracoorte, Marla, Coober Pedy, Roxby Downs and Leigh Creek.

A wind gust of 93 km/h was observed at Naracoorte around 4:30pm

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
