|TAS Flood Watch: Huon Catchment

Flood Watch Number: 1
Minor flooding may develop in the Huon River catchment from early Saturday morning.
A deep low pressure centre will cross southern Tasmania early Saturday, with south to southwesterly flow to follow throughout the day, bringing persistent showers across the west and far south of the state.
The Huon River catchment is generally wet from recent rain and is likely to be responsive to further rainfall.
Widespread rainfall totals of 30-60 mm are forecast for Friday into Saturday.
Higher totals are possible locally and in elevated areas.
River level rises are expected and minor flooding may develop as a result of the forecast rainfall. Higher than normal tides are forecast overnight and over the weekend at Huonville.
