Flood Watch Number: 2

Isolated minor flooding is possible from Saturday evening in the flood watch catchments.

A cold front associated with a complex low is crossing Tasmania during Saturday, bringing rainfall to northern parts of Tasmania.

Most catchments in the flood watch area are wet from seasonal rainfall.

In the 24 hours to 9am Saturday, rainfall totals of 5-20 mm were recorded in the north west, with isolated totals up to 27 mm.

Additional rainfall totals of 10-40 mm are expected in the flood watch catchments during the remainder of Saturday, with higher totals possible in elevated areas along the Western Tiers.

River rises are expected with the forecast rainfall and isolated minor flooding may develop from Saturday evening.

Further catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

North Esk River

Meander River

Macquarie River

Mersey River

Forth River

Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers
