Flood Watch Number: 1

Minor flooding may develop this week, most likely from Wednesday. Rapid snowmelt may add to river rises overnight Monday into Tuesday at some locations.

Generally west to northwesterly flow this week. Embedded fronts will enhance rainfall, particularly late Tuesday into Wednesday.

Most catchments are relatively wet to saturated and rivers will be responsive to additional rainfall.

Forecast 5-day rainfall totals through to Friday evening: 30-125 mm in the west, 50-110 mm in the northeast, 60-120mm along the Western Tiers. Isolated higher falls are possible, particularly about elevated areas.

Strong river rises are expected this week in flood watch catchments.
Widespread minor flooding is possible, most likely from Wednesday. Rapid snowmelt may add to river rises at some locations overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Minor Flood Warning is current for North Esk River.

Additional catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.

South Esk River

Meander River

Macquarie River

Ringarooma River

North Coastal Rivers

Mersey River

Forth River

Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers

Arthur River

Huon River

Derwent River
